General Manager – Jonathan Gee, C.P.G.A.
Executive Professional

Jonathan brings to Bigwin Island Golf Club over 20 years experience in Member Clubs including twelve years service as a Head Golf Professional and over 20 years as a Class A Member of the Canadian PGA. He has had success at the PGA Sectional level as a player, teacher, retailer, and for a brief time playing in Canadian Tour events. He now turns his commitment to Management and promises to lead a qualified team of Professionals to insure the continued success of the Club. Jonathan brings to Bigwin a dedication to Member service and satisfaction as well as the vision to establish a strong Club culture. His leadership in concert with the Management team is laying the foundation for the long-term success of Bigwin Island Golf Club. "It's our Members who make us great".

Director of Turf Operations Kevin Schultz

Kevin Schultz has been part of the Bigwin Island Turf team since 2000. Kevin brings 20 years of turf experience to his position here on the island. He was employed as Assistant Superintendent at Westmount Golf and Country Club prior to his arrival at Bigwin. A proponent of life-long learning, Kevin brings a broad spectrum of education including a diploma in Agriculture from Kemptville College and a BA from University of Waterloo. 

Kevin takes pride in providing world class turf conditioning to enhance this unique island golf club.  Instrumental in Bigwin being awarded Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary status in 2007, Kevin values responsible stewardship at Bigwin Island. He sees success in a balanced approach including high expectations, training, approachability and being communicative to both staff and the membership. 

Kevin also balances being the best possible father to his 8 year old girl Raylene and husband to his wife Esther.  Any spare time is spent managing their small farm.

 Director of Golf/Head Professional – Kevin Russell PGA of Canada Class A Professional

Kevin joined the Bigwin Island Management Team in the spring of 2002. Kevin brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership and experience to the club. Kevin is responsible for the overall golf operations including course management, Norway Point, shuttle operators, dock, back shop, starters and marshals and pro shop.

Kevin has a combined 7 years post secondary education including Business Administration, Turf Grass and Engineering and brings years of experience in both Head Professional and Associate Professional roles. Kevin continues to bring innovative ideas, organization, structure and sets a standard for the highest level of customer service.

Kevin is also an accomplished skier and has spent alot of time skiing in BC, Alberta, Quebec and Ontario. As a Canadian Ski Instructor Alliance Level III Instructor and Canadian Ski Coaches Federation Level I Race Coach skiing is definitely one of his passsions. Kevin's other hobbies include mountain biking, bass fishing and coaching AAA hockey.

Associate Professional - Doug McLeod, PGA of Canada Class A Professional

In the off season Doug wrote and passed his Class A exam. As the Associate Professional Doug will take on a greater role at the club. This is Doug's third year at Bigwin, although he has been working in the golf industry for 8 years. Doug graduated, with honors, from Niagara College's Professional Golf Management Business Administration program. Doug brings an eager attitude to the team as he enters his third year as an Elite Apprentice in the C.P.G.A. He enjoys teaching, playing and is always interested in talking golf to anyone. Having worked at a semi private golf club, Doug has several years of experience with member services as well as public and corporate play. 

Doug is looking forward to another great year at Bigwin focusing strongly on junior porgrams and assisting Kevin in growing all aspects of the club. Doug is very excited to work with the highly educated and skilled team at Bigwin and believes his drive for high levels of customer service will fit in well.

Assistant Professional - Nick Lucas PGA of Canada Class B Professional

Nick previously worked as the Assistant Professional at North Granite Ridge. Nick will assist Doug McLeod in the daily operations of the pro shop.

Executive Chef – Philip Anthony Leach
Phil Leach joined the Bigwin Team as Executive Chef in spring of 2006. Phil's background and experiences brings a plethora of culinary skills from working in Europe, and in other high-end private golf clubs in Canada. He studied classical culinary skills at Toronto's George Brown College and completed his apprenticeship at a Scarborough member's only golf club. Phil then took his knowledge to the United Kingdom where he worked in exclusive London restaurants and hotels in the areas of Knightsbridge, Soho and Westminster.

Clubhouse Manager/Director of Food & Beverage – John Siddall
John Siddall joined the Bigwin Management Team in spring of 2006. He brings some 25 plus years of Hospitality and Club experience that includes senior management responsibilities as General Manager, Director of Food and Beverage and Clubhouse Manager at some of Canada's finest premiere private and semi-private golf and country clubs.

John exudes a passion for food, the knowledge of fine beverages to complement and a love for wanting to please people through personalized outstanding service. He demands attention to detail of his team that maintains members and guest expectations are consistently met and often exceeded. John specializes in the introduction of current Culinary and Hospitality trends/interests and translates these through a la carte menus, service techniques and theme events/functions that offer exciting, innovative and superb cuisine and service excellence.

The Culinary Brigade and Food and Beverage Service Team provides an exciting Social Calendar of themed events throughout the golf season that continues the tradition and commitment of ensuing a memorable experience each time you visit Bigwin Island.
